Woman of the Year
Angelina Townes-
Owner Operator McDonalds/ Community Advocate/ Wife and Mother
Mrs. Angelina Townes is a business owner, community advocate, wife and mother. Mrs. Townsend is a local business owner
and operator of McDonald's. She has given many young kids the opportunity to work in an environment that is fair
and demanding.She employs students and young adults expecting to learn their job, treat the customers and each other
with respect with the mantra that "a good day's work is good for the soul and good for your self-respect."
Mrs. Townes continues to donate her time to organizing a scholarship program for young teens throught the Ronald McDonald
House Scholarship. She formerly served as a Board member of the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, where she still
remains an active spokesperson for the quality of life in the CSRA. Mrs. Townsend is the epitome of a woman doing
it all, in business, in her professional life and as a wife, mother and woman of faith.
Vivian Wiley Thompson Sylvester- Scholarship Chair; CSRA Classic, Top Ladies of Distinction
Mrs. Vivian Thompson Sylvester has truly dedicated her life to ensuring that the expenses associated with higher education do not prevent the youth from pursuing a higher education.
She has proven that she is committed to eradicating poverty through community outreach, emphasizing the value of
education and literacy through educational development programs, advocating for women, men and children to have equal
access to health care and encouraging political participation so that people can take charge of their own future.As
a testimony to her committment to the community, Ms. Vivian Thompson Sylvester has received the Dream Jeeper's Award
in 2008, which is an honor bestowed upon individuals in the community who are dedicated to keeping the alive the
dream of Dr. Martin Luther King. In 1981 she was one of six women who decided to spearhead the organization of an Augusta chapter Top Ladies of Distinction.

Monique Braswell is actively involved as a parent in her children's school.She was instrumental in organizing a fundraiser
at a local business to raise money to build a playground at Wheeless Road Elementary School. She is committed to
working with and making an impact on the lives of young people. She tirelessly works over the Christmas Holiday's gathering
donated items to give to needy families in the CSRA. She has been recently asked to serve on the Board for the CSRA
Economic Opportunity Authority, Inc. (EOA).
